What we collect when you use this site, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to delete it.
When you request a free takeoff
We collect the plan file you upload, your email address, your company name and your role. If you tick the box for product news, we keep that choice too. We do not ask you to create an account.
To protect the free service from abuse, we also run a bot check and keep a one-way hash of your IP address for rate limits. We never store the IP address itself.
Why we use it
We use your drawings only to prepare your takeoff. We use your email to send the link that starts your takeoff, to send you the finished takeoff, and to tell you if we cannot do it. We use your company and role to understand who the service is for.
We do not sell your information. We send product news only if you ticked the box, and you can stop it at any time.
How long we keep it
We delete your uploaded drawings 90 days after we deliver your takeoff. If you never confirm your email, we delete the upload within a few days.
Your takeoff is shared through a private link with a long random ID that is kept out of search engines. Anyone you send the link to can open it.
When you open your takeoff
When the takeoff link we send you is opened, we record that it was opened, which buttons were used (such as Download or Play 3D), how long the page stayed open and the country of the connection, so we know when to follow up. We use the same one-way hash of the IP address as above, set no cookies for this, and never store the IP address itself.
Asking us to delete it
Email hello@mixchapter.com from the address you used, and we will delete your drawings, your takeoff and your details. You can also ask what we hold about you.
When you save your email on a practice exam
If you save your email on a practice exam or join the waitlist, we keep your email, the exam, your score if you saved it, and the page you were on. We use it only to send study and product updates, and you can reply to opt out at any time.
The rest of the site
The calculators and practice exams run in your browser. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your own browser.
